Donalsonville and Seminole County hosts numerous festivals and events throughout the year. Most are planned to reflect the season, and all are fun for the entire family.

Harvest Festival – A Cornerstone Event:

Each year during the third (3rd) weekend in October, the Donalsonville/Seminole County Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Harvest Festival, which is designed to celebrate the county’s number one industry, Agriculture. Visitors come from near and far to enjoy a parade, arts & crafts, entertainment, children’s activities, car, truck and motorcycle show, art show, and good southern cooked food. Activities also include a 5K run and 1 mile fun run with proceeds benefiting breast cancer research. Other events held during the festival week include a Peanut Recipe Contest and the Merchants Decorating Contest. There are also softball tournaments held at the Seminole County Recreation Complex. .

Shellcracker Tournament & Festival:

The Lake Seminole Lions Club hosts the Annual Shellcracker Tournament & Festival the fourth (4th) Saturday in April each year at Spring Creek Park Resort. The festival combines a fishing tournament with kids’ activities, vendors, and entertainment to provide a full day of fun. All proceeds from this event goes to local charities and organizations.

4th of July Celebration

This event, celebrating our independence is held on July 3rd, and features food, fun, and entertainment all day and a tremendous fireworks display at dark. The event is held at Seminole State Park, and is sponsored by the Lake Seminole Lions Club.

Spirit of Christmas

Each year on the Thursday after Thanksgiving the Donalsonville Downtown Development Authority/Better Hometown sponsors the Spirit of Christmas celebration. The event features food vendors, arts & crafts, children’s activities, seasonal music, and a nighttime parade.

Downtown Trick or Treat

Each year at Halloween the Donalsonville Downtown Development Authority/Better Hometown sponsors the Downtown Trick or Treat. Downtown streets are blocked, and merchants distribute goodies to hundreds of youngsters.

Bass Tournaments

The Donalsonville/Seminole County Chamber of Commerce and the Donalsonville Downtown Development Authority/Better Hometown sponsor several Bass Tournaments throughout the year.

» Awards at Chamber banquet
- We want to congratulate all our award winners at the Annual Chamber Banquet held on March 12.  They are as follows:  STAR Student - Annabeth Miller, STAR Teacher - Keith Helms, Teacher of the Year - Christy Croom, Visionary Award - Sara Ann Keaton, Farm Family of the Year - North American Farms owned by Joe Hall, David Hall and Kenneth Hall, and Citizen of the Year - Jim Anderson.  Congratulations again to all these deserving citizens!

» New Chamber Member
- We want to welcome our newest Chamber member.  It is  Barfield's Deli and Gifts (formely Barfield's Bait and Tackle).  It is owned by Don and Nina Pritchard.  Be sure to visit them for all your bait and tackle needs, and so much more!  Go by and see what all they have.  They are located at 6032 Highway 39 South.  We appreciate your membership!

» Annual Chamber Dinner
- Our Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner will be held on March 12, starting at 7 p.m.  This year we are pleased to announce that The Olive Theatre Troope will be our entainment.  The meal will be prepared by Jo Woodham of Jo's Family Restaurant.  We will announce the prestigious "Citizen of the Year" award, as well as many other award winners.  We will also be drawing for the winner of our 50/50 raffle, where the recipient will get 50% of all the ticket sales. You may get tickets for the dinner as well as raffle tickets from the Chamber office, or from any Chamber Board Member.

» New Chamber Member
- We want to welcome our newest Chamber member, Les Robinson, with Woodmen of the World.  Go by and talk to Les and his staff for all your insurance needs.  He is located on at 116B East Second Street, and his phone number is 229-524-8827.  We are very glad to have Les as an investor in the Chamber!

» New Chamber Member
- We want to welcome our newest member to the chamber, Specialty Sales-Donalsonville.  They are located at 1005 North Tennille Avenue.  Go by and let Steve Spooner and his staff help you with your planter needs, your plumbing needs, and lots of other stuff.  They also carry nuts and bolts.

» Shane Owens
- This year we are pleased to announce that Shane Owens will be performing on the pavillion at the City Park for our Harvest Festival.  Come see and hear this country music recording artist.  He will be performing a two hour show.

» Harvest Festval and Parade
- Our Harvest Festival and Parade will be held this year on October 18, 2014.  We will have arts and crafts, games, children's activities, displays and of course, lots and lots of food! - Honors were presented Thursday night at the Annual Chamber Dinner to the following people:  Citizen of the Year - Wayne Coachman.  Donalsonville News Public Safety Officer - Charles Hall.  The first anuual Better Way Visionary Award - J. B. Clarke and the late John Hanna.  STAR
